Nikki Jacobs qualified as an IDTA Modern Dance Teacher in 1989 with training under Stephanie Rutherford and Trish Rogers.
Ballet trained from the age of 5yrs under the late Francis Harrison and Sheila Chisholm via community based classes and government based Arts School. She took ballet all through high school and as a matric subject. She has danced professionally in a number of Sun International extravaganza productions at Wild Coast Sun, Sun City and Artscape and various other productions.
Founder and teacher of a community based project and registered NPO based in Cape Town, The Dance Project, since 1999 together with Trish Rogers. Staged and choreographed numerous performance showcases and prepared junior and senior groups and soloists for local and international competitive work including regional eisteddfods and festivals, SADTA, Hip Hop International’s Dance to Las Vegas and SASAFF amongst others in a variety of dance styles including, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, show dance and tap.
Having facilitated dance tour groups to Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Washington and Orlando, she believes in opening dancers’ minds to being versatile and being performance focussed. She has attended international dance conferences, workshops and classes. Nikki is also a certified Personal Trainer. Dance is her passion not her job.
